Dauntingly good. My gosh, you are a genius. Thank you. I haven’t felt moved by a piece in a long time and you changed that for me. Anodyne for the spirit---everything down to the photographs and the commentary on the Feeling (surrendering to it or keeping it at a knife’s edge, ready to spar---en garde!) So, so good. Thank you dearly ❤️
Hmm. I don't know, but I have the feeling you're onto something. Something important. I say that with the same conviction that the space baby in the final image of 2001: A Space Odyssey says "...something beautiful." I hate essays that leave me staring blankly at the crease line where the wall opposite my bed intersects the ceiling. A weird little paralysis sets in and I become immobile and empty for a few minutes. I don't know how to process what I just read. Like walking into a massive cathedral. Reverent. Some sacred this way comes. What are you saying? I've overindulged on it. I'm sick with dumb ecstacy. Speechless.
Holy shit. Every time, Jesse, reading your writing is an experience of head, heart, soul, and spirit, the internal and external and everything in between. Your words are the path or the magic carpet or the bird - and then we, the reader, have another opportunity to join you. With The Feeling, I am struck, hard, by your courage, which might not feel like courage?? To acknowledge the painful and dangerous, which is more universal than most of us want to know - it's just around the corner from whatever holds us together. It's all in the same house - the beauty, wonder, awe, love... and the other stuff. Keep writing, please and thank you!!!
Talk about startling prose!! I relate, I resonate. This was absolutely beautiful. 💜
Thank you♡
